Vicar Hinton be careful

"The Reverend Michael Hinton was launching his work at Canterbury Cathedral in southern England, the headquarters of the Anglican Church." The 'work' referred to in this article is a condensed version of the Bible that should take only about 100 minutes to read.

I wonder if the vicar included the portion in Deuteronomy and Revelation that quotes God as warning people not to add or subtract from His words or face the consequences. In Revelation the plagues will be added to that person...Yikes. Vicar it may not be too late. Pull the plug.

And remember brothers and sisters, "but for the grace of God go we."

I happen to know vicar Hinton. All I can say is Christ have mercy upon him. For what he has failed to do.
Refused to act as a peacemaker.
Refused to accept forgiveness.
Refused to acknowledge his inspiration and motive.
Refused to act as the good Samaritan.
Encouraged someone in acts of Perjury...
Refused to visit that person in Prison.
Refuses to see that his work is the work of Lutheran prejudice, whilst pretending it is impartial, complete and true.
Contrast Peter's attitude to authority and Pauls.Peter's attitude is ommited. Pauls is included..this is the result of the biassed views of Luther who created this hierarchy of values.
This is the same Peter whom Christ promised to build his church on. He did not promise this to Paul, who never even knew Christ...unlike Peter who did.
I'll trust christ over Paul any day. Peter over Luther.

Refusing to see the big picture and his small but essential part in it.

As for the 100 minute Bible "A bad workman blames his tools because a good one would not use them"

If you enter the Bible with love you will find that reflected back at you, whatever values are important to you, you will see reflected back at you.

The moral would seem to be make sure you enter it in a spirit of love and if something grabs your attention, strikes a chord that is ultimately not loving. It is here where you need to listen. It is here that you must confront this unloving attitude and transfigure it.
This is long, slow work. It requires patience. It cetainly will not be achieved in a hundred minutes. Such a cheating attitude is antithetical to genuine spiritual growtn.
